Dr. Lena Eure  aka Lady Peachena

Dr. Lena Eure is a dedicated educator who has been teaching for almost 40 years. After graduating from Morgan State University in 1970 she started out as a Lead Teacher with the Model Cities Day Care Program in Baltimore, MD. Two years later she moved to New York City where she spent about 8 years working as Lead Teacher at various preschools including the Tree of Life Montesorri School in Brooklyn, NY. In November 1983, Dr. Eure started teaching students from Pre-Kindergarten to the 9th grades with New York City's Department of Education as Classroom Teacher & Cluster Teacher teaching Communication Arts, Language Arts, Vocal Music & Math at various times. Most notably, she also organized school choirs, New York's Youth Sunshine Choir & the Eubie Blake School Choir while teaching at P.S. 3 , P.S. 25, and JHS 265. With them she recorded 3 albums and they performed at several cultural events all over New York City, including the United Nations, City Hall, Albee Square Mall Plaza, and at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) with the Brooklyn Philharmonic Orchestra in Tschaikovsky's  "HARD NUT." Although Dr. Eure retired from teaching in 2004, she continued to work as a substitute teacher with NYC'S Dept. of ED., and later as lead teacher with the Neighborhood Children's Center in Harlem & the Freewill Center in Brooklyn, NY.  Both preschools were shut down by then Mayor Bloomberg during a city budget crunch, 2007-20008.

Seeking new ways to motivate her students, Dr. Eure received her Masters of Science degree in Multicultural & Urban Education from

The College of Mount St. Vincent in 1999.   She obtained her second Masters of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing for Children from New School University in 2001, and on August 26, 2017 she graduated from Capella University with a PhD degree in Leadership in Educational Administration. While studying online as a doctoral student, Dr. Eure created the Wise Word Power curriculum as a creative strategy to motivate  students, who were having difficulty with reading, to become better readers and to boost their literacy skills. This interactive phonics-reading program is based on the basic vowel sounds that is reinforced with humorous short stories, decoding and rhyming word-building activities, learning comprehension exercises about the stories and poems they read, as well as opportunities for them to create and write their own poems, chants, songs, and stories.  Plus , the music CDS have easy sing--along, feel-good songs that they will enjoy singing. No matter what your child's problems with reading may be, she strongly believes that your child will become a more fluent reader within five months of using this supplemental phonics-reading program regularly with constant parental guidance.
